The Circuit d'Alcarràs, inaugurated in 2007, 170 km west of Barcelona near Lleida, is a technical track highly appreciated by Spanish and European riders. It is notably known as Marc Márquez's training circuit, the MotoGP champion originally from Cervera, only 40 km from the circuit. This proximity to one of the best riders in history testifies to the quality of the track. The track was resurfaced in 2023, offering excellent grip.

Track Characteristics

The circuit is 3.74 km long with 14 turns (10 left, 4 right) in an anti-clockwise direction. The asphalt track is 14.5 m wide and has a straight of 800 m. The particularity of the track is its rear section with two fast left turns on a slope of 9%, providing a unique roller coaster sensation.

The circuit imposes no sound limit, making it a preferred choice for motorcycles with racing exhausts. This makes it ideal for a motorcycle track day.

Riding Tips

With 10 left turns against only 4 right turns, Alcarràs is ideal for developing your left-hand cornering technique. The track is demanding but easy to memorize — focus on rhythm and fluidity rather than pure speed. The 9% sloping section requires adapted braking and acceleration: do not brake too late at the entrance to the fast left turns. The generous run-off areas offer a good safety margin.
