About Alméria

Motorcycle Track Day at Circuito de Almería

The Circuito de Almería, built by former rally driver Nono García in the Tabernas desert in Andalusia, has become a must-visit destination for winter motorcycle track days. Its desert climate offers ideal riding conditions from November to March, when the rest of Europe is under rain. The technical layout with its significant elevation changes makes it a demanding and exciting circuit.

Track Characteristics

The circuit is 4.03 km long with 14 turns (8 right, 6 left) in a clockwise direction. The asphalt track is 10 m wide with an elevation change of over 50 m, among the highest in Spain. The main straight is approximately 900 m. The surface is particularly abrasive, offering high grip but quickly wearing out rear tires in hot weather. The sound limit is 108 dB.

The complex also includes the Circuit d'Andalucia (5.02 km), added to the west in 2016 with the contribution of MotoGP rider Tito Rabat. In 2018, the Iberia extension created a combined layout of 9.22 km, the 2nd longest in Europe after the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Riding Tips

Almería is a circuit of rhythm and flow. The blind crests (T5-T6, T7) require constant throttle without jerking — cut the throttle at the top and you will lose grip. Work the late apexes in most of the turns. Braking downhill is the main trap: brake straight and release gradually while leaning the bike. The abrasive surface wears out rear tires quickly: use tire warmers and modulate the throttle when exiting turns.

Access and Practical Information

The circuit is located in the Tabernas desert, 30 km north of Almería. Almería Airport is the closest. The site is isolated — plan accommodation in Tabernas or Almería. The desert climate guarantees dry conditions almost all year round. Book your track day and ride at Almería!
