About Ascari
Motorcycle Track Day at Ascari Race Resort
The Ascari Race Resort, created in 2003 by the Dutchman Klaas Zwart (founder of Ascari Cars), is an exclusive private circuit nestled in the hills between Ronda and the Andalusian coast. Built on a former sheep farm after 3 years of work, the track was personally designed by Zwart with 26 turns inspired by mythical circuits from around the world. The resort was sold in 2022 to Swiss and Argentinian investors.
Track Characteristics
The circuit is 5.43 km long with 26 turns (13 left, 13 right) in an anti-clockwise direction. The asphalt track is 12.2 m wide with an elevation change of 38 m, slopes reaching 12% and banking up to 18%. The straight is 470 m long.
The turns are inspired by iconic circuits: there are echoes of the Eau Rouge from Spa, the Karussell from the Nürburgring, the Paddock Hill Bend from Brands Hatch, and sections from Daytona, Sebring and Bathurst. The circuit can be divided into three independent sections.
Riding Tips
The 26 turns with banking (up to 18%) and slopes (up to 12%) require constant adaptation of riding style. The changes in altitude affect grip — maintain smooth throttle in transitions. The width of 12.2 m allows for varied trajectories and overtaking. The track requires several sessions to be memorized due to the diversity of the turns. Access and Practical Information
The resort is located 10 km from Ronda, in Andalusia, accessible from Malaga (1h30) or Gibraltar (1h) airports. Access operates on a private club model with different membership options. The luxurious facilities include a clubhouse, swimming pool, garages for 450 vehicles, a karting circuit and a heliport. If you are looking to ride at Ascari, consider a track day.
