The Circuit de Bresse: 55 Hectares Dedicated to Motorsports

The Circuit de Bresse is a 55-hectare complex located in Frontenaud, in Saône-et-Loire (71). Founded by Jean Ferrier and his two children, passionate about motorsports, it opened its speed track in 2006, complemented by a karting track in 2007 and a road safety testing center in 2010. The asphalt track was completely resurfaced in 2020 after 14 years of use. Approved by FFSA and FFM, the Circuit de Bresse has become a reference for motorcycle track day events in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, with a dense program throughout the season.

Track and Characteristics of the Circuit de Bresse

The main track of the Circuit de Bresse extends over 3 km with a track width of 12 to 14 meters (extra width to 14 m in overtaking zones). Several configurations are possible, from 1,200 meters (school track) to 3,000 meters in full configuration, including a short version of 2.2 km without the inner section. The track combines fast curves, medium turns, and slow turns, with long straights allowing speeds exceeding 200 km/h. The run-off areas are generous and safe, with 20 pit locations. The sound limit is 95 dB.

Riding Tips at the Circuit de Bresse

The Circuit de Bresse is a selective track where the ideal trajectory is not always obvious. Be precise in the slow turns to properly negotiate the fast curves that follow. The straights allow you to enjoy pure speed, but anticipate braking well — the track is wide and can give a false impression of margin. The width of 12-14 meters offers multiple trajectories for overtaking. After the resurfacing in 2020, the grip is excellent, but be cautious at the beginning of the session in the morning when the track is cold.

Access to the Circuit de Bresse

The circuit is located at 460 route de Milleure, 71580 Frontenaud. From the A39 motorway, take exit n°9 (Cuiseaux – Cousance-Louhans), the circuit is indicated just after the toll booth. Allow approximately 1 hour from Lyon, 1h30 from Geneva, and 45 minutes from Chalon-sur-Saône. GPS coordinates: 46.54710, 5.32527.
