The circuit d'Issoire, located in the Puy-de-Dôme, 30 km from Clermont-Ferrand, is a technical 2.48 km track dedicated to the pleasure of riding without competition or timing. Created by Jacques Houssat and developed by Tchine Monégasque (Agostino Turuani), this circuit offers 9 technical turns and a 750-meter straight line in a green natural setting at the foot of the Massif Central. The site also houses Auverdrive, a museum exhibiting more than 30 exceptional cars.

History of the Issoire Circuit

The circuit d'Issoire (CEERTA) was born in the 1990s from the initiative of Jacques Houssat, a former truck driver and heavy goods vehicle test manager at Michelin, with his colleagues from the Centre d'Études de Liaison au Sol. In 1996, Tchine Monégasque (Agostino Turuani), a cabinetmaker with a passion for automobiles from Lombardy and based in Monaco, bought the circuit and added a dirt track, an autocross track and the Auverdrive museum, which exhibits more than 30 exceptional cars and 1,000 miniatures.

Since its creation, the circuit has organized around forty open moto days and riding courses per year, in a spirit of fun and safety, without competition. This unique philosophy makes it a popular place for motorcyclists who want to improve without pressure. Book your motorcycle track day now!

Track and Technical Characteristics

The circuit d'Issoire measures 2.48 km with 9 technical turns: double turn, tight passage, chicane, 90° section and fast curves. The track is 9 meters wide (6 m in some tight passages) in high quality asphalt. The 750-meter straight line allows top speeds exceeding 250 km/h. The sound limit is 95 dB.

The site also includes a 1,000 to 2,000 m dirt track for rallying and a 1,000 m autocross track, in a wooded area of 10 hectares.

Riding Tips: Focus on late braking before tight turns and fast transitions. Master the smooth trajectories in the chicane. Watch out for the exits of chicanes: the high speed of the straight line can be surprising. Brake gradually to avoid locking. The track is quickly memorized, which allows you to focus on the technique.
