About Jerez

Motorcycle Track Day at Circuito de Jerez

The Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto, opened in 1985 and renamed in 2018 in honor of the legendary Spanish rider, is one of the most iconic circuits in the motorcycle world. It has hosted the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix since 1987, and Marc Márquez holds the lap record with 1:38.051 (2019). The circuit is also a venue for pre-season MotoGP tests thanks to its Andalusian climate. Motorcycle track days are regularly held there, attracting riders from all over Europe. Book your track day now and ride at Jerez!

Track Characteristics

The circuit is 4.42 km long with 13 turns (8 right, 5 left) in an anti-clockwise direction. The asphalt track is on average 11 m wide (10.8 m min / 12.9 m max), with an elevation change of 28 m. The main straight is 607 m long. The sound limit is 105 dB at 3/4 of the maximum revs — checks are strict.

The track has been modified several times: addition of the Senna chicane in 1994 (used only by cars), resurfacing in 2005 and 2008, adaptations of the kerbs in 2017.

Key Turns

  • Curva Dry Sac: tight turn with intense braking, one of the most demanding on the track
  • Curvas Crivillé-Ferrari: fast historical section, fluid sequence
  • Curva Lorenzo: turn that prepares the last straight, exit speed is crucial
  • Chicane Ayrton Senna: added in 1994 after Imola, used only by cars in F1

Riding Tips

The track mixes slow, medium and fast turns on 3 distinct sectors, requiring a good compromise in settings. The braking zones are intense, especially at Dry Sac — work on trail braking. The sound limit of 105 dB is strictly controlled: use a dB-killer or a stock exhaust, non-compliant motorcycles are excluded. Remember a warm-up lap to clean the tires before attacking. Book your motorcycle track day!

Access and Practical Information

The circuit is located in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, 1 hour from Seville and 2h30 from Malaga. Jerez Airport is 15 minutes away. The Andalusian climate offers ideal conditions almost all year round, making it a popular track day destination in winter. Check our track day booking calendar for available dates.
