About Lédenon
The Lédenon circuit: the most technical track in France
The Lédenon circuit, located in the Gard region, 10 km from Nîmes, is considered the most hilly, winding, and technical track in France. With its 3.15 km, its 34-meter elevation change, and its unique counter-clockwise rotation in France, it offers an intense riding experience that attracts motorcyclists from all over the south. Approved in 1973 and completely renovated in 2024, Lédenon hosts major competitions such as the FSBK and Promosport.
History of the Lédenon circuit
The Lédenon circuit was born from the passion of Jean-Claude and Sylvie Bondurand, who decided in 1970 to build their own circuit with their own funds. After three years of construction despite numerous difficulties, the circuit was officially approved on June 16, 1973, inaugurated by around thirty Matra Bagheeras. From 1977, it hosted its first major competitions: Production (which became Supertourisme) and Formula Renault.
The paddock was completely renovated in 2015 with electrical terminals, showers, and a cafeteria. In February 2024, Eiffage Route carried out a complete resurfacing of the track: 5,000 tons of asphalt on the track, 1,600 tons on the shoulders, and the implementation of an anti-crack propagation process.
Track and iconic corners
The Lédenon circuit extends over 3.15 km with an elevation change of 34 meters between the lowest point (la Cuvette, 174 m) and the highest point (end of the straight, 208 m). The track, 10.5 m wide, requires nearly 38 gear changes per lap. The straight has an uphill gradient of 7 to 13%.
The iconic corners of the circuit:
- Le Triple Gauche: the soul of the circuit, a long left-hand turn that closes twice, creating three corners in one
- Le Virage du Pont: a long right-hand turn that is negotiated by entering on a slope (6% gradient), with re-acceleration uphill
- La Cuvette: 90° left-hand turn at the lowest point, braking on a bumpy area on a marked descent
- La Descente du Camion: atypical passage in the descending part of the circuit
Riding tips: The counter-clockwise direction is destabilizing at first: the left side of the tires works harder. Approach the Triple Gauche with caution during your first sessions. Master braking downhill before the Cuvette. The track alternates flat and fast sections with very technical and blind passages.
Access and practical information
The circuit is located in Lédenon (30210), in the Gard region, 10 km from Nîmes. The sound limit is 99 dB. The renovated paddock offers a spacious area with electrical terminals, toilets, showers, and on-site catering.
Why ride at Lédenon?
The Lédenon circuit is a reference for motorcycle track day enthusiasts thanks to its unique track in France. The counter-clockwise direction, the 34 m elevation change, and the iconic corners like the Triple Gauche offer sensations that no other French circuit can reproduce.
