About Magny-Cours Club

Magny-Cours Club: the technical layout of the F1 complex

The Magny-Cours Club circuit, often called "small Magny-Cours", is the technical track of the Nevers Magny-Cours complex. Created in 2003, it is independent of the GP layout but shares the site and infrastructure of the circuit that hosted the French Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1991 to 2008. The Club circuit offers a shorter and more technical layout than its big brother, while maintaining the same quality of infrastructure and the same seriousness in the organization. Today, it is one of the most popular circuits for motorcycle track days thanks to its varied profile and its proximity to Paris.

Layout and characteristics of the Magny-Cours Club circuit

The layout extends over 2,530 meters clockwise with 15 turns and a track width of 10 meters. The circuit shares the 700-meter straight of the GP layout - an impressive length for a "club" circuit. The surface has a camber of 2.5% and a slight difference in altitude with changes in elevation. The run-off areas are wide, without rails or walls, for maximum safety. Sound limit: 95-102 dB depending on the events. The track is partially sprinkler-equipped.

Riding tips at the Magny-Cours Club circuit

The 15 turns of the Club circuit mix technical sequences, chicanes and even a blind turn - a varied profile that tests all facets of riding. The 700-meter straight, identical to that of the GP, allows you to enjoy pure speed. The grip is excellent (track recently resurfaced), dry as well as in the rain. Work on the accelerations on the angle in the tight sequences - this is where the seconds are gained. The 10 m track, narrower than the F1 layout (18 m), requires more precision.

Why ride at the Magny-Cours Club circuit?

The Magny-Cours Club circuit combines the prestige of the Magny-Cours name with a technical layout of 15 turns perfectly suited to motorcycle track days. The 700-meter straight, the wide run-off areas without rails, the excellent grip and the motorcycle schools (H2S, BMC, Hampe Racing) make it a reference choice. Many organizers offer track day booking at competitive prices. The proximity to Paris (3 hours) and the F1-level infrastructure add to the prestige of each track day.
