About Misano

Motorcycle track day at Misano

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, located in Misano Adriatico near Rimini, was inaugurated in 1972 and renamed in tribute to Marco Simoncelli after his tragic death in 2011. The circuit was completely redesigned in 2006, changing from counter-clockwise to clockwise with major safety improvements. It hosts the San Marino MotoGP Grand Prix and the World Superbike.

Track characteristics

The circuit is 4.23 km long with 16 turns (10 right, 6 left) in a clockwise direction. The asphalt track is 14 m wide and is completely flat (close to sea level). The sound limit is 102 dB, strictly controlled.

The track was modified in 2008 (turn 2 tightened, Variante del Parco) and in 2015 (resurfacing and improved run-off areas).

Key turns

  • T1: right-hand entry turn, hard braking from the straight (downshifting to 2nd gear)
  • Curva del Rio (T4-T6): technical sequence, overtaking zone
  • Quercia (T8): braking at the 100 m marker, downshifting to 2nd gear, key turn of the track
  • Tramonto (T9-T10): flowing sequence, corner speed is crucial
  • Curvone (T11-T13): fast section leading to the longest acceleration (260 km/h in 5th gear)
  • Carro (T14): hairpin, intense braking zone at the end of the long straight

Riding advice

Misano's flat track emphasizes pure braking and corner speed. Late apexes are rewarded everywhere. The T11-T13 (Curvone) section towards the long straight is key to lap time — the exit speed of T13 determines everything. The surface offers good grip but wears tires, especially on the right side. The 102 dB sound limit is strict: dB-killer mandatory.

Access and practical information

The circuit is in Misano Adriatico, 15 km from Rimini. Rimini Airport (Federico Fellini) is 20 minutes away, Bologna Airport is 1h30 away. The Adriatic coast offers accommodation, restaurants and beaches nearby — ideal for combining a track day and vacation. Book your motorcycle track day now and ride at Misano!
