The circuit de Pouilly-en-Auxois: a technical track in Burgundy
The circuit de Pouilly-en-Auxois, officially named Circuit de l'Auxois Sud, is a 1.48 km asphalt track located in the town of Meilly-sur-Rouvres, in Côte-d'Or. Managed by the Communauté de communes de Pouilly-en-Auxois et Bligny-sur-Ouche, this circuit was reopened in April 2011 and completely renovated in 2019: new asphalt, new curbs, widened runoff areas and redesigned water drainage system. With its 8 varied turns and its 400-meter straight, it hosts both car driving courses and motorcycle track day and even drift and karting sessions.
Track and technical characteristics
The circuit de Pouilly-en-Auxois offers a sequence of 8 turns with very different profiles: hairpin, wide curve, fast turn, semicircle. Turn 2 is known to be tricky, turn 5 is a large fast curve, turn 6 is a 180° hairpin requiring heavy braking, and turn 8 has a marked camber. The track is 10 meters wide with large grass run-off areas without rails or walls, offering reassuring safety for riders of all levels. The 400-meter straight allows you to exceed 200 km/h in a single-seater formula.
Riding tips at Pouilly-en-Auxois
The track rewards precision rather than pure speed. Brake hard before the hairpin of turn 6 — this is the most demanding braking zone on the circuit. Exploit the width of the track in the large curve of turn 5 to find the ideal trajectory. Watch out for bumps and asphalt joints, especially at the entrance to the turn. The straight is ideal for working on your accelerations, but anticipate braking at the end of the straight. The circuit record is 48.53 seconds in a single-seater formula and 52.31 seconds on a motorcycle (CBR).
Access to the circuit de Pouilly-en-Auxois
The circuit is easily accessible from the A6 motorway (Pouilly-en-Auxois exit), then direction Autun-Nevers via the RD 981 (former RN 81). After 3 km, follow the direction Aérodrome-Karting on the right. The junction with the A38 towards Dijon is also nearby. The circuit is located approximately 45 minutes from Dijon and 1 hour from Beaune. GPS coordinates: 47.22294, 4.55984.

Pouilly-en-Auxois offers excellent value for money for a motorcycle track day or a car driving course in Burgundy. The track renovated in 2019 is in excellent condition, the run-off areas without rails or walls reassure beginners, and the technical sequence of the 8 turns allows you to progress quickly. The atmosphere is friendly and family-like, with a spacious paddock. The circuit also hosts charity events such as the Téléthon, with baptisms and tourist rallies.
