The Sachsenring circuit, located in Germany, is an iconic track for motorcycle enthusiasts. Inherited from an old road circuit used since the 1960s, the current Sachsenring was inaugurated in 1996 and modified in 2003. It is world-renowned for hosting the German MotoGP Grand Prix every year.
Drivers particularly appreciate the festive atmosphere that prevails during events, with a large and passionate German audience. Although the paddock is professional during MotoGP, the atmosphere of the track days is friendly, technical and demanding. The circuit is renowned for its unique layout and the sustained pace it imposes.
Sachsenring Track Characteristics
The Sachsenring is a short 3.67 km circuit, characterized by 10 left-hand turns and only 3 right-hand turns. The surface is asphalt and the track width is 12 meters. The theoretical maximum speed is 296 km/h. The circuit is a real carousel with a long straight of 700 meters.
Riding Tips: Pay particular attention to the right-hand turns, slow and technical, which follow the fast left-hand sequences. Maintain a slight throttle to preserve grip. Favour smooth trajectories in the 10 left-hand turns to maintain a high pace. Brake late at the entrance to turn 11, nicknamed 'Waterfall'. Pay attention to the critical braking zone before the first turn after the straight.
