Motorcycle Track Day at Snetterton Circuit
The Snetterton circuit, located near Norwich in the United Kingdom, has been a hotspot for motorcycle track days since its inauguration in 1953. Built on a former airbase, this MSV-owned circuit offers a unique experience for riders of all levels. Snetterton is renowned for its dynamic motorcycle track days and friendly atmosphere, attracting a diverse audience from amateurs to competitors.
Snetterton Track Characteristics
The main track, called Snetterton 300, extends over 3.12 km. The direction of rotation is counter-clockwise, and the surface is entirely asphalt. The circuit is characterized by its long Senna straight, ideal for reaching high speeds, followed by technical turns such as Hamilton, Nelson, and Bomb Hole. These turns feature banking and bumps, adding an extra challenge. The braking zones are significant before the Agostini and Coram hairpins.
Riding Tips:
- Brake gently before Bomb Hole to avoid oversteer.
- Use the inside kerbs precisely at Hamilton and Nelson, avoiding the sausage kerbs.
- Approach Agostini late with deep braking and a wide exit on the kerbs.
- Attack fully on Senna Straight and Bentley, but watch out for track sensors on the exit of the turn.
