About Zolder
Motorcycle track day at the Zolder circuit
The Zolder circuit, located in Belgium, has been a hotspot for motorcycle sports since its opening in 1963. Appreciated for its friendly atmosphere and stimulating layout, it attracts riders of all levels. Zolder is renowned for its pleasant atmosphere (8-10/10 according to riders) and well-organized track days, with homogeneous level groups for increased safety. The paddock atmosphere is lively, with motorcycle rental services and training available.
Characteristics of the Zolder track
The Zolder circuit extends over 3.98 km of asphalt. It is a fast circuit, with good accelerations and some technical chicanes. Be careful, the track has a bump where the front of the motorcycle can take off, followed by a steep descent. Almost all the turns are to the right, making it an excellent training ground for all riding styles, except for hairpins. Grip can be precarious in the rain due to the rubber deposited by car races, and tire wear is significant, especially on right-hand re-accelerations.
Riding tips: Be particularly attentive to the 95 dB sound limit (except on rare no-limit days). The bump requires caution to avoid wheelies, and the descent that follows is steep. Closely monitor the wear of your right tire, stressed by the many re-accelerations on the angle. Take advantage of the long straights to attack, and brake early at the chicanes and fast right-hand turns.
